John DiCicco

Mr. DiCicco received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his J.D. cum laude from Wayne State University. Following a judicial clerkship at the Arizona Court of Appeals, he entered the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in 1974 as a civil trial attorney. During his career in the Tax Division he held a variety of trial and supervisory positions, including leading the Division's 18 litigating and operating units and its 600 employees for over 3 years, as Acting Assistant Attorney General and as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General. In those positions Mr DiCicco coordinated and managed all of the Division's civil and criminal litigation. Upon the confirmation of an Assistant Attorney General, Mr. DiCicco resumed his responsibilities as the Division's Career Deputy Assistant Attorney General and supervised the Division's seven civil trial sections and its Office of Management and Administration until his retirement in January of 2013. During his time in the Division Mr. DiCicco received a number of Tax Division, Justice Department and IRS awards.
