Christine S. Hooks

Christine is a Tax Controversy attorney with Mayer Brown LLP, and represents taxpayers in all stages of federal tax controversies, with a particular focus on matters that draw upon her litigation experience in all three federal tax dispute forums. Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2012, Christine served as Counsel to the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Civil Trial Matters and practiced as a Trial Attorney with the Department of Justice, Tax Division. As a trial attorney Christine represented the government as lead counsel in over one hundred tax-related matters involving a wide range of issues. Christine received an Outstanding Attorney Award and two Special Commendations for her service with the Tax Division. Prior to her tenure with the Tax Division, Christine also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nancy B. Firestone of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
